Small Bedroom Design

While decorating a small bedroom it makes sense for us to conserve the floor space you have in order to make a restricted room feel larger than it really is. Old houses used to have small bedrooms. It is the trend of today that we think about master bedrooms. But let me tell you, the smaller bedrooms you have, the more it will save your time and energy cleaning it up.

Below are some small bedrooms decorating ideas which should help you to accomplish the right result for such a small space.

Wall Mounted Shelf

If the small bedroom does not allow you to have a bedside table, then why not place a wall mounted shelf instead? It will provide you more than enough space for alarm clock, photo frames and other personalized items like books.

Under Bed Storage

Small bedroom might sometimes not have closets leading you to a dilemma. Under bed storage will work miracles for you. You can either make it out of inexpensive plastic or if you can have some made to order from wood. But it is vital that you have enough space beside the bed so that you can pull them out when you need access to them.

Wall or Ceiling Mounted TV Stand

For those who need to watch television before they go to sleep, you can have a wall or ceiling mounted television stand. Wall and ceiling stands are the best options to move in when you need to accommodate something like this.

Use of Neutral Colors

Try and use 2 or at the most 3 colors tones for you walls. Having too many colors on your walls will make your bedroom look a modern art painting. Avoid contrast shades as they will make your room look smaller than before. Dark shades could help giving a cool and soothing look to your bedroom.

Dual Layer Curtains

You might require daylight to enter your bedroom during the daytime and no light at night. To solve this problem, you may have two contrast shade curtains. You can switch to any one of them as per your requirements. For examples, you can pull on the white curtains during the day and the dark shaded curtains at night to avoid any street light.

Delicate Furniture

The furniture for such a room should be clean lined and has small delicate patterns on it which will help to promote the illusion of space.

Light Effects

Ensure that the room is well illuminated as this will also provide a sense of space in such a small room. The more you allow light to pass in, the more your bedroom looks spacious.

Mirror on the Wall

If you are able to add a mirror in a position opposite a natural form of light as this will help to provide further light into a room and therefore create the illusion of space.

Your bedroom should always show your true feelings. Do not overdo on colors and patterns. Your bedroom is a place where you need to rest with peace. Make it your haven.

Bedroom Design Ideas

Whether you have just shifted to your new home or want to give a makeover to your old master bedroom, you need some exclusive ideas to make your bedroom design stand out.Having a spacious bedroom does not necessarily mean that you need to fill it up with an array of furniture. It only needs to combine all the bedroom designing elements together to create an ambience.Bedroom has to be warm and cozy to ensure good night's sleep.

Decorate in Style

If you choose to decorate your bedroom by yourself instead of hiring a professional interior designer then you need prior research work.Giving your bedroom a new look is not a tough job provided you have some creative ideas up your sleeves. You will find myriads websites ready to offer innovative interior design ideas.Traditional or contemporary, oriental or western or simply eclectic – pick your style first. Decorating by style reflects good taste and artistic sense. It will also help you proceed in a systematic way while choosing furniture, fabrics and other decorative items for your bedroom.

Color is the Key

Choose colors for your bedroom wisely as colors play a key role in creating the desired mood.If you want to make your large bedroom feel comfy and warm you need brighter shades like orange, lemon yellow or rosy pink. You can think of contrast coloring schemes as well. But for smaller rooms it is advisable that you do not go overboard with colors.Lighter and cooler shades like cream, pale blue or light purple are just fine with small bedrooms.

Furnishing Fundamental

It is needless to say that your bed is the focal point in your bedroom. It is better to divide the bedroom into different zones especially when you have a large one.It makes the entire decorating process easier.Large bedroom with wide windows require larger furniture while smaller bedrooms call for space saving furniture and low-lying beds.

High king size bed with double mattress and fluffy pillows will perfectly fit in to a large picture.Position the bed against the wall in a way so that anyone entering the room cannot see it from outside. In this respect a well-decorated hotel room can be a good inspiration for designing a bedroom. Place a chic looking chest or cabinet at the foot of the bed to keep television on top of it.It also adds little more privacy to the sleeping area.

Choose large wardrobe and wall-mirrors for the dressing zone. Small wooden desk with table lamp and set of cushioned chairs in a corner can ideally create a cozy reading or lounging area in your bedroom. When it comes to selecting bedside tables and lamps go for round shaped ones rather than square ones if you go for traditional style.Modern bedside lamps come in varied shapes and size to choose from.

Textile Texture

Pick fabric wisely for your bedroom as it relates to comfort as well as privacy.Bedroom windows need double layers of curtains.Long and heavy drapes are to bar the sunlight and cold. Thin light-colored linen curtains ensure privacy while allowing ample sunlight during daytime. For pillow and cushion covers choose fabrics with attractive colors and fine texture. Bedroom is all about rest and comfort.Wide range of fabrics with different textures and price range are available in the market. So,look for variety of fabrics as much as possible before you select one for your bedroom.

Use your imagination and bedroom design ideas to create your own style statement।Hang intricately designed tapestries or a colorful painting with soft wall-lamps focusing on it at the head of the bed.You can not buy anything that appeal to your senses.Choose pieces of art work and tapestries depending on the mood and style of your bedroom design. Placing potted plants by the bed or window brings soothing touch of nature as well.Flowers and floral art works also add to the romantic charm of a bedroom. To be precise,a good amalgamation of your creativity and interior decorating tips given by experts is sure to create the spark in your bedroom decor.

Master Bedroom Photos

In a perfect world your master bedroom should be a haven in which you and your spouse can retreat from the world and enjoy each other. Unfortunately, the same type of clutter and dust that invades every other room in your house can spill over into your master bedroom.

One of the easiest ways to spiffy up your master bedroom on a daily basis is make the bed. It's a simple as that. If you aren't someone who routinely makes the bed you'll be amazed how much better a room will look and how quickly you'll be hooked. A great facelift for a bedroom is also a simple one, it's called a "bed in a bag". These sets come with comforters, coordinating sheets, pillow shams and bed skirts. If you have a visible bathroom attached to the master bedroom it's nice to carry your color theme through to the bathroom too.

Clear off the top of your dressers. As with all flat surfaces these will tend to gather papers too. If you don't have a home office where you keep bills and other important papers, get an organizer. A good way to organize bills and papers is in an accordion folder. They can be organized alphabetically or by month. Just get them off your dresser!

Now onto the vanity. It's time to part with what you really don't use. Bottles left sitting anywhere just become dust collectors and if you haven't used that perfume in the past two years, you probably aren't going to. You can pick up some small and nifty storage boxes and use one for lipstick, one for eye makeup, and one for foundation. It's a good time to go through all your make up and get rid of what's old.

If you don't already have one, get a laundry basket for your room. These can also be decorative items. Get those clothes up off the floor. Get a shoe rack for your closet and put your shoes in the closet when you change clothes after you get home from work. Shoes left lying around in a bedroom don't just look bad - they can be a health hazard. More than one person has hurt him or herself tripping over shoes on the way to the bathroom during the night.

Now that we've beautified the bed and are going to keep it made, cleared off the tops of the dressers and organized the papers. Picked up the shoes and dirty clothes from off the floor it's time to run the vacuum.

Now sit back, relax, and enjoy your master bedroom.

Decorating Master Bedroom

It is important to remember when decorating a master bedroom that you create a space for you and your partner which is inviting and uncluttered. Below are a number of steps which you may wish to follow which will help you to achieve the perfect balance in your master bedroom.

1. Furniture. It is important that you make a decision on what kind of furniture your need for your room and then measure the room prior to making any purchases.

2. When buying dressers and chest of drawers for items that will sufficiently hold your clothing, lingerie, jewelry and bedroom linen. You can also use the tops of these for holding a TV or stereo if you have one in your bedroom.

3. If you have enough space consider purchasing an armoire (large upright chest with 2 or 4 doors) if you require tall storage space but not enough room to include a wardrobe in your design. A lot of the armoires now available come with a rod inside on which to hang your clothes as well as pull out tray on which a television, stereo or computer can be stood.

4. When looking for a nightstand select one that you can easily reach from your bed and has at least one draw in it to hold any belongings that you do no want continually on show.

5. Also consider purchasing a mirror as this will create the illusion of space in your room. However if you are purchasing one that will be stood on your dresser then measure the dresser width so that they match.

6. Buy a duvet or comforter cover for your bed so it feels cozy when you get in at night to sleep and select matching sheets and pillowcases to add that final finishing touch.

7. If you want to really add a nice finish touch to your master bedroom and great a little feel of luxury then include some decorative pillows as well.

8. The lighting in your master bedroom should be warm and inviting, however it should be bright enough so that you can read but soft enough that you feel comfortable and relaxed in your room.

9। Finally why not paint the walls to give them a fresh new look and why not go for colours that will match in with the overall design of your room. However, do not go for harsh colours as they will only make the room feel cold and uninviting when you step into.

Creating a Beach Theme Bedroom
Some people just can’t stand the thought of summer being over! If you are one of those people, then try creating your very own beach-theme bedroom, to enjoy for the entire year. When transforming your bedroom into a beach-theme, keep in mind the simple things in life. Adding too many nautical items will only clutter the room. Think of how a beach would look; simple, airy and relaxing.
You want to create a simple and relaxed atmosphere, as if you were just relaxing on a beach or island somewhere. A few simple ideas and easy tricks will have you on your way to a tropical paradise in your room.

Wall treatments
Use colours that will relax and soothe. Pastel shades of green, blue, yellow and beige are fabulous choices to use on the walls. Adding a bit of bold with black or dark wood frames is also a nice touch with these colours. Choose basic wallpaper or do it yourself with a faux wall idea. Using sponges and textured fabrics to paint with will create this look wonderfully!

Window Treatments
Use light and airy window treatments that stay very basic. Remember, you are supposed to be at the beach! Imagine the curtains blowing in the wind. An easy and affordable solution for this is to use tab-top or tie back curtains and panels. Wooden rods will work beautifully with tab-top curtains. You can leave them as unfinished or pine wood or maybe get creative by painting them white or a match to your wall treatments.

Furniture
Furniture will be the most important items in the room. You want to stay away from dark and heavy looking furniture. Choosing wicker is a wonderful idea. It is light and breezy, not too dark or heavy, so it keeps with the beach theme. You can purchase a wicker furniture set that includes everything you need for the entire room. If you wish to decorate on a tighter budget, try white-washing existing furniture. This is simple to do and costs a fraction of what purchased furniture sets would cost.

You can create a white wash look just by thinning your white paint down and lightly brushing over the wood. Remember not to cover the furniture with a thick coat of paint, just lightly brush over it.

Bedding
Use the colour you chose for your walls as a guide for what your bedding will be. You can easily find patterns that resemble a beach look with seashells or Hawaiian flowers in bright colours to off-set the pastel colours in the room.

Flooring
A white washed wood floor will create the illusion of sand or natural ground. It is very simple to do and will be much more affordable than carpeting or laminate. Keep it light and simple too. Picture sand on the beach and stick with those pigments. If painting your floors is not a solution you wish to do, try keeping your existing flooring and just add a beach element with throw rugs or an area rug in neutral colours. Sage greens are a perfect choice for adding colour to an existing floor.

Accessories
Go on a scavenger hunt for items to decorate with. No need in spending a lot of cash to get a beach look, use the beach instead! Gather seashells, driftwood, empty bottles and washed up sea critters, such as star fish or hermit crab shells. Add a few hanging plants as well as potted plants or trees to bring life to the room.
Voila! You have your very own beach setting now। Enjoy!
